Although the 2009 Taipei Summer Deaflympics had closed for nearly 10 years, the global Deaf community is eagerly looking forward to returning to Taipei and to relive the time that was deeply touched by the year. In particular, Chinese Taipei Deaf Sports Federation has decided to host 2019 World Deaf Badminton Championships and is ready to welcome everyone to Taipei from over the world again.
2019 World Deaf Badminton Championships shall be held in Taipei Gymnasium from July 11 to 22, 2019; moreover, this venue was the official venue for Badminton of 2009 Taipei Summer Deaflympics as it is very meaningful.
According to Deaf World Championships – Regulations, the organizing committee included Chinese Taipei Deaf Sports Federation is required to invite the technical director for the site inspection in advance. The organizing committee had officially invited Mr. Martin Lawrence Bogard to perform his duties during the site inspection. Mr. Bogard did not only receive the preparatory report from the organizing committee and had the relative discussions also did the test on the electronic scoring system at Taipei City University’s Tianmu campus. In the meanwhile, Mr. Bogard visited the two(2) official hotels and learned about the various services as well. Mr. Bogard was very impressed by these works the OC had done. Moreover, Mr. Bogard paid a visit to Ms. Tzu-Chun LIU, Director of the Sports Administrator of Ministry of Education, Mr. Tzai-Li LI, Commissioner of Department of Sports, Taipei City Government, Mr. Jin-Nian CAI, Vice President of Chinese Taipei Badminton Association, and Mr. You-Long LI, Secretary-General of Chinese Taipei Badminton Association. With full support, Mr. Bogard expressed his deep feelings at this, saying that the 2019 World Deaf Badminton Championships will be as successful as the 2009 Taipei Summer Deaflympics.
In the next step, the organizing committee will revise the preparatory plan based on the suggestions made by Mr. Bogard and will try its best in providing the highest quality competitions for all Deaf Badminton players from the world.
